The ceremony of twelve

I cannot believe it. I was finally turning twelve, but the ceremony had a little twist in it. You see, the ceremony of twelve is when your transition to adulthood begins. It certainly is a delightful event, where they call your name and you have to walk up to stage and receive a bade and a floder with instructions in it. The audience will applaud for you. When you get this job, you have to train for it until you become old and stay in the House of Old. I was really excited, but for some odd reason they did not call my name! Thoughts were racing around my mind. " Was I not qualified? Is my work insufficient? I began to feel realy frightened and dizzy. I got up from my seat and started looking for my parents. Then the  Head-of-Council made an announcement after everyone got thier turn. She said that this year, I was going to get a special job. Then she called me up on stage and told me that I was going to be the new Receiver. I had no idea what kind of job it was, and i was happy and surprised at the same time. She gave me the badge and a folder with instructions. She told me that the training will be painful, and I must do my job well. Everyone applauded for me, but I still wasn't satisfied for some reason. My parents were happy for me, and they knew that i would do a good job at it.
